I cannot begin to express how terrible Spectrum is. When we initially tried to sign up for service their technicians came out a half dozen times before they finally determined that we couldnt get service without running a new cable to our house.
The price for this was $3000. After initially telling them to pound sand, we broke down and paid the $3000 because we had been on satellite internet, which was trash.
It took months for them to run the new line and install service. We had to call weekly to get them to show up. We eventually got internet and TV service.
The internet has been generally quite good. The TV, however, has been a shocking disaster. Our DVR has never worked. We cannot record shows, watch shows, or delete shows.
It just doesnt work. Hasnt for over a month. Ive spent hours on the phone and in chat with support. They have sent technicians out 3 times.
And 2 other times the technicians refused to come to our house. I made an appointment, and took time off of work only to have them call right before the appointment to say that they werent coming because they cant fix the problem.
The local technicians claim that there is an issue with DVRs in just four towns in California. They claim that bad modems mean that they cannot record, delete, or play shows. When you talk to Spectrum support they say this issue doesnt exist and that we need new DVRs.
Unfortunately, every time I schedule a service call to replace our equipment the technicians refuse to come.
Ive missed work, spend thousands on installation and service, and I spend hours per week speaking with support and this company has no idea what is going on.
They clearly do not communicate, as everyone has a different opinion about what is going on. It is unbelievable that in 2019 a huge company cannot make a DVR that works (1990s technology) and they have absolutely no idea what is going on or when they might be able to fix it.
