Spectrum - Greedy, Out For Itself, Screws Its Own Customers
I agreed to a contract with Spectrum to be delivered selected programs for a specified price. Now Spectrum/Charter changed the programming and expects me to pay for some garbage they put on in place of the good stuff.
I believe there is criminal activity in this bait and switch. Not only was there no warning of this change that appeared for the viewers, but it's possible that the paying advertisers were not informed that the demographics of their audience changed, that is, they are not reaching their intended targets to get the business they are paying for with their ads. I also think there is potential bribery and kickbacks involved to allow a program to be aired on a totally inappropriate network.
The federal, state and local governments and regulatory agencies need to examine and investigate, fine and ban where appropriate, and force Charter to change its practices. Don't deal with Charter or its affiliates, go straight to the attorney general, public services commission, FCC, BBB and others to make others aware of what they're doing and force them to comply from the top down.
Show them that the customer is boss, not them.
Charter has a very low rating on Pissed Consumer, and Spectrum (which see) is even lower. With a 70+% disapproval rating, how can they stay in business? Must they resort to potentially illegal tactics? Spectrum recently lost the largest internet fraud lawsuit in New York State history of nearly $180 million dollars.
Now they are trying to make it back by cheating their cable television customers and others?
How despicable. Time to switch to the competition.
Reason of review: Cheating customers and potentially advertisers with bait and switch programming.
Spectrum Cons: Bait and switch programming, Potential cheating of advertisers, Lack of compliance unless forced by the feds, Bought out the excellent time warner cable, Spectrum deceptions and business practices.
Location: Buffalo, New York
